CAD Manager - Lexington, KY
Bowman Consulting
Provides engineering, planning, and consulting services across various infrastructure sectors.
Establish, support, and implement CAD design standards and mentor/manage CAD drafters and engineers in the land development industry.
Receive broad guidance from senior-level management relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution. Manage people and processes to ensure effective execution. Review work produced by staff for quality assurance.
Assist with project schedules, proposals, and local staffing availability to ensure timely implementation, completion, and submittal of plans.
Troubleshoot system deficiencies and implement workable solutions.
Communicate and share knowledge and resources with other regional and companywide office CAD managers.
Assist with the marketing of the firm’s capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships.
Provide QA/QC by reviewing and ensuring all plans are legible, professional, and adhere to applicable project and Bowman standards.
Plan, organize, and manage work of all CAD and engineering staff in accordance with project timelines and guidance provided by Team Leaders, Project Managers and/or Branch Managers.
Create detailed drawings in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and have the ability to learn other 3D design modeling software formats.
In conjunction with Corporate CAD Manager, Regional CAD Manager, and local office CAD leads within the region, establish structure, support development of and implement CAD design standards, policies, and procedures, training for all staff, and recommend best practices for solutions to meet customer needs.
Identify required resources, be aware of budget vs. labor costs, and ensure project design files, sheet files, and plan sets are consistent with local and companywide standards, policies, and procedures.
Assist and collaborate with the IT department with management of CAD hardware and software systems for the design team.

Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
Experience with computer applications and civil engineering design software such as Bentley Systems and familiarity with reading construction plans.
Associate's degree preferred.

High degree of discretion and ability to manage highly confidential information.
