Actemium M&E - SHEQ Apprentice

• Contribute positively to site operations, working closely with operational and engineering teams to ensure compliance and continual improvement.
• Attend SHEQ meetings, training sessions, and industry events as part of your learning and development.
• Support site teams with risk assessments, COSHH assessments, site safety inspections, audits, and toolbox talks.
• Promote a positive culture of health, safety, environmental awareness, and quality standards among all team members and subcontractors.
• Assist with the implementation and continual improvement of SHEQ policies, procedures, and management systems in line with legislation and company standards.
• Keep up to date with latest SHEQ best practices and relevant legislation.
• Develop practical skills and industry-recognised qualifications in health, safety, environmental and quality management.
• Help to ensure all incidents, accidents, and near-misses are reported and assist with investigations as needed.
• Assist in maintaining SHEQ records, compiling reports, and analysing performance data and trends.
• Support the development and delivery of SHEQ-related training and communications across the business.

What We’re Looking For – SHEQ Apprentice Qualifications and Attributes

Work will take place at a variety of locations, including office, workshop, and live industrial sites. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided. You will be required to follow strict safety protocols and work collaboratively as part of the wider project team.

Working Environment – SHEQ in Mechanical & Electrical Projects

• Five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4/C or above, including English, Maths, and a science/technology subject.
• Organised, detail-oriented, and willing to learn new skills.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to engage with people at all levels.
• Proficient IT skills (email, Word, Excel).
• Full UK Driving Licence as travel will be required visiting various site and Business units.

This is a permanent SHEQ Apprentice role reporting to the Head of SHEQ. The role is ideal for enthusiastic individuals interested in launching a career in health and safety, environmental management, and quality assurance within the M&E engineering sector. You will receive hands-on training, practical experience, and ongoing professional support while working toward industry-recognised qualifications.
