JLL provides professional services in real estate and investment management worldwide.
The Electrical Shift Engineer will join the integrated engineering shift team within a critical facilities or data centre environment. The role requires an extensive understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) assets and a focus on risk management and service quality. As an electrical‑biased engineer you will lead planned, corrective and reactive maintenance tasks and issue permits‑to‑work in line with method statements and risk assessments. You will also provide engineering relief cover for absences within the shift.
Key responsibilities include inspecting, operating and maintaining all MEP systems, making technical recommendations and producing concise reports. You will coordinate specialist vendor visits, ensure accurate work‑order reporting and complete shift handover documentation. Health and safety duties such as hazard reporting, toolbox talks and continuous improvement of safe systems of work are also required. Additionally, you will manage supply‑chain ordering, own plant‑room areas and evaluate and escalate potential risks.
JLL empowers you to shape a brighter way by combining world‑class services, advisory and technology for clients. The company is committed to hiring talented people, helping them thrive, grow meaningful careers and find a place where they belong. Whether you have deep experience in commercial real estate, skilled trades or technology, JLL invites you to join its team.
The successful candidate must have a minimum of five years’ experience in critical environments such as banking headquarters or data centres, and an electrical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent. Strong communication, IT and report‑writing skills, as well as the ability to work calmly under pressure, are essential. Willingness to attend on‑site and off‑site training, including HV Authorised Person training, and a proactive attitude toward continuous improvement are highly valued. Individuals who do not meet every technical qualification may still be considered with Operations Director approval.
