Travel on foot across uneven, rugged, or obstructed terrain, sometimes in areas inaccessible by vehicle.
Calibrate and clean testing equipment as required
Help calibrate, clean, and maintain field and laboratory testing equipment

Support the creation and documentation of boring logs
Properly label, log, and organize materials to ensure accurate project data
Assist with soil classification, including visual/manual identification and laboratory support
Perform fieldwork, including collecting soil samples using borings, hand augers, and other sampling tools
Assist with soil classifications and boring log creation using AutoCAD
Maintain accurate and detailed field and lab reports
Maintain quality assurance standards throughout field and lab work

Ability to use sensory capabilities to see (including close and distant vision, color perception, depth perception, and focus) and smell for observation and safety purposes
Ability to lift and carry between 35-75 lbs. of equipment or samples over distances up to 75 feet.
Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats in varied environments, often while wearing PPE.
Ability to stand, walk, drive, and operate lab and field equipment for extended periods.
Exposure to drilling operations, sampling methods, and laboratory procedures
Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
Basic understanding of construction materials and testing procedures is a plus.
Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as lab coats, gloves, safety goggles, and respiratory protection.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Possible exposure to chemical odors, dust, or temperature fluctuations within the lab environment.

Regular exposure to moderate to loud noise levels from laboratory equipment, ventilation systems, and instrumentation.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on active construction sites.
Hands-on experience in geotechnical field investigations and materials testing
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting
This position requires moderate travel, approximately up to 20% of the time, in support of business
Exposure to varying weather conditions including heat, cold, humidity, rain, or sun.

Currently pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
