This position will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a busy fabrication shop that supports critical projects in the water and infrastructure sectors. The successful candidate will ensure production targets are met safely, on time, and to budget, while driving continuous improvement and maintaining excellent customer satisfaction.

  • Deliver regular toolbox talks and maintain a culture of safety-first throughout the facility.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives around process improvement, efficiency, and cost control.
  • Coordinate quality inspections and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Lead production activities in line with project schedules, safety standards, and budgetary requirements.
  • Work closely with project teams, vendors, and subcontractors to resolve challenges and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Manage and motivate shop teams, ensuring effective communication and performance management.
  • Oversee material flow, scheduling, staging, and logistics to support smooth shop operations.
  • Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to develop team capability and future leaders.
  • Maintain accurate records including reports, schedules, maintenance logs, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure the shop remains clean, well-organized, and compliant with internal and external standards.

  • Proven ability to lead teams effectively with a hands-on and safety-focused approach.
  • Skilled in planning, scheduling, and managing production operations.
  • Knowledge of quality management, lean principles, and continuous improvement methods.
  • Comfortable engaging with multiple stakeholders including project managers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Degree in a technical or engineering field preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Strong background in production or fabrication leadership within a fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience in production, operations, or supervisory roles.
