Wet Finisher

Description

The employee will work with various tools and techniques to ensure concrete surfaces are even, free of bubbles, and properly cured. Tasks include spreading concrete, using blades and hand trowels, and managing pours of beams, columns, and panels. The worker must also monitor weather conditions and protect the concrete during curing.

• Smooth out concrete in segments to ensure the concrete poured is level.
• Level concrete using special blades, smoothing lumps and bubbles.
• Pour concrete beams, columns, and panels.
• Finish corners by hand.
• Use groovers and hand trowels to spread concrete.
• Halt concrete pouring if weather looks bad.
• Cover concrete for curing.
• Clean all accessible hardware.
• Bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs.
• Push and pull up to 100 lb (power trowel).
• Maintain steady hand and arm control while moving or holding position.
• Stand on feet for 8 to 12 hour shifts.

Requirements

Physical stamina is essential; the job requires frequent bending, stretching, twisting, and reaching, as well as the ability to push or pull up to 100 lb and lift up to 50 lb. Workers must maintain steady hand control and stand for shifts of eight to twelve hours.
