The Toolroom Technician is responsible for the repair, maintenance and manufacture of mould and press tooling. Working to BS 308 drawing standards, the role involves planning work, interpreting tool order requests, operating a range of machine tools and ensuring all tooling meets specification and quality standards.
Candidates should hold an engineering qualification or have completed a relevant apprenticeship, and possess a current Abrasive Wheels Regulations certificate. Experience with hot‑runner systems, mould‑tool unscrewing, and familiarity with Microsoft Office are required, while laser welding and progression‑strip tool knowledge are desirable.
