Silco is seeking a skilled Sprinkler Fitter to join our team. The Sprinkler Fitter will play a vital role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems in commercial properties. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with strong technical skills and desire to help protect people and property.
- High School diploma or equivalent completion of a formal apprenticeship program or trade school in sprinkler fitting preferred.
- Ohio licenses for sprinkler systems, fire mains, and fire alarms required.
- Must be able to climb ladders, use lifts, and work at various heights.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces or outdoor environments as needed.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the installation and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems.
- Must be able to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Must have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
- Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and successfully passing pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background checks.
- Capable of driving company vehicles and transporting equipment or materials when needed.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching throughout the workday.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to remain alert and focused while performing detailed or repetitive tasks.
- Strong technical skills, including the ability to troubleshoot and repair sprinkler system components.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Strong understanding of NFPA codes and standards, as well as local building and fire codes.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
- Able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds as needed.
