The Welder role utilizes ARC or MIG welding equipment to perform hand‑welding in a production environment, adhering to lean and 5S methodologies. Responsibilities include regulating gas flow, controlling current and voltage for proper metal penetration and fusion, and selecting the correct electrode type, size, tips, and welding rod for each job.
Key duties involve reading engineered drawings, setting up and operating welding machines, adjusting gas mixtures and pressure, manually guiding the electrode or gun along weld lines, and securing work pieces with bolts, clamps, or tack welding. The welder must inspect welds for bead size and specifications, keep the work area clean and organized, and may be tasked with additional duties such as operating a brake press.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, and one to three years of related welding experience or equivalent training. Required skills include basic computer proficiency with Windows and MiTek’s time‑and‑attendance system, the ability to read and write simple instructions, perform basic mathematical calculations, and solve practical problems in variable situations.
MiTek offers a competitive wage ranging from $24 to $29.75 per hour, along with a 401(k) plan, paid time off, holiday pay, day‑one insurance benefits, profit sharing, and a generous overall benefits package.
The organization promotes a Total Rewards package that supports employee growth, financial wellness, recognition, and comprehensive health, disability, and retirement plans, encouraging individuals to join a community where they can learn, grow, and build lasting relationships.
