The Director, Legal – Manufacturing & Procurement will report to the EVP, General Counsel and work from the Newark, DE office or the headquarters in San Jose, CA. This is a fully on‑site, in‑office position that partners with engineering, supply‑chain and manufacturing teams to enable the design, production and worldwide deployment of Bloom Energy Servers.
The attorney provides legal guidance across manufacturing and supply‑chain activities, ensuring contracts and processes align with Bloom Energy’s strategic goals. They support product managers and technical teams during design and development, and help resolve legal issues that arise from commercial relationships.
- Draft, negotiate and finalize manufacturing, procurement, and supply‑chain agreements.
- Advise internal teams on joint‑development, strategic sourcing, logistics and related legal matters.
- Create and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and a supply‑contract database.
- Lead vendor relationship management and negotiate directly with external suppliers.
- Implement process improvements for direct and indirect procurement operations.
- Manage pre‑litigation disputes and provide training on legal issues to internal stakeholders.

Candidates must hold a JD or LLB from an accredited law school and be admitted to at least one state or provincial bar. At least ten years of commercial transaction experience—four of which should be spent at a law firm—is required, with a preference for global procurement and manufacturing exposure. Experience in intellectual property, patent licensing, and in‑house counsel work at a technology company is considered a plus.
- Possess a JD/LLB, bar admission, and ten+ years of commercial transaction experience (including four years at a law firm).
- Demonstrated global procurement and manufacturing experience; IP or patent licensing experience is a plus.
