Project Manager Assistant

Description

Within HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group, engineers design critical infrastructure for the digital age, from high‑performance data centres to dynamic commercial environments. This work supports technological advancement, sustainability and human experience, blending mechanical, electrical, structural and civil expertise to solve complex design challenges.

• Coordinate project team work throughout the project life cycle under supervision of the Project Manager
• Manage workload through execution to deliver on budget and programme
• Apply company quality assurance guidelines and procedures
• Assist in establishing client relations and participate in marketing, contractual, change and production meetings
• Support Change Control and Risk Management processes
• Collaborate with multiple Project Managers and project teams
• Handle many aspects of a small project or a single aspect of a large project
• Develop project management and quality management plans
• Liaise with Accounting, Operational and Business Leadership for regular project reviews
• Prepare, organise and coordinate contracts and sub‑contracts
• Monitor sub‑consultant information, including quality plans and deliverables
• Coordinate internal and external meetings and presentations

Requirements

The Project Manager Assistant role drives smooth project delivery by coordinating tasks, tracking progress and communicating with stakeholders alongside experienced Project Managers and Directors. • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and experience leading design engineering teams
• Datacentre industry experience is highly advantageous
• Working knowledge of construction projects
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Minimum 2 years project management experience in engineering, construction, or design consultancy
• Ability to interact with design teams and communicate effectively in writing and verbally
