Senior Frontend Engineer- Angular (Remote in U.S.)

Description

As a Senior Frontend Engineer – Angular you will drive the design, development, and strategy of enterprise‑grade Angular applications, ensuring scalable architecture, high performance, and adherence to best practices while mentoring the team and fostering innovation aligned with USGBC’s mission.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Technology, you will work in a collaborative environment alongside Backend, QA, Product, and Design teams to refine requirements, align on API contracts, and validate user‑friendly features.

• Lead and architect enterprise‑grade Angular applications for a distributed team of six engineers.
• Define and enforce coding standards, performance optimization, and testing best practices.
• Configure CI/CD pipelines and Git branching strategies in partnership with DevOps.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior and mid‑level developers.
• Collaborate with product, UI/UX, and QA teams to deliver high‑quality front‑end solutions.
• Create and maintain architectural guidelines, reusable design patterns, and documentation.
• Apply micro‑frontend and mono‑repo architecture with Node.js/NestJS backends.
• Champion UI/UX best practices for intuitive and accessible user experiences.
• Monitor and adopt emerging frontend frameworks and cloud‑native strategies.

Requirements

This role is remote within the United States, with a standard Monday‑to‑Friday schedule of 9:00 AM–5:30 PM local time; preference is given to candidates in the Eastern time zone, and occasional weekend availability may be required for critical deployments.

• 5+ years developing scalable Angular (v17+) applications with TypeScript.
• Expertise in RxJS, NgRx (or similar) and Angular CLI.
• Strong background in CI/CD pipelines, automation, and Git branching (GitHub preferred).
• Proven ability to implement unit testing best practices and enforce code quality.
• Experience implementing Single Sign‑On across multiple platforms.
• Advanced knowledge of Angular Material UI customization and AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, Cognito, CloudFront).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (required).
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (preferred).
• Frontend: Angular v17+, TypeScript, RxJS, NgRx, Angular CLI, Angular Material.
• Architecture: Micro‑frontend, mono‑repo (Nx), UI/UX best practices.
• Backend/Integration: Node.js, NestJS, REST APIs, SSO solutions.
• DevOps/CI‑CD: GitHub, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jest, Karma, Jasmine.
• Cloud: AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, Cognito, CloudFront, S3), Docker, Kubernetes.
• Tools: GitFlow, Jira, Confluence, ESLint, Prettier, Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman, New Relic, Datadog.
• Advanced proficiency in Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, NgRx, Angular CLI, and Angular Material customization.
• Expertise in micro‑frontend design, mono‑repo architecture, and scalable UI/UX principles.
• Skilled in integrating REST APIs, GraphQL, and authentication/authorization (SSO, OAuth, JWT).
• Strong problem‑solving, debugging, and performance monitoring abilities.
• Ability to create technical documentation, design patterns, and architectural guidelines.
