Tasks

As an Electrical Technologist at KGS Group your primary duties will be to prepare engineering models, drawings and documents, perform site inspections to gather data, and to assist electrical engineers with project specific tasks. You will produce models and drawings using primarily AutoCAD, and documents with Microsoft Office software. You will work to complete tasks independently as well as collaborate as part of a design team. -Assist in gathering technical information for reports, specifications and analysis. -Perform various design tasks for new and modified electrical systems. -Perform basic calculations and present them in a logical and organized manner. -Perform field inspections and measurements. -Prepare engineering models and drawings with AutoCAD. -Summarize field observations and measurements in reports and/or integrate them into designs.

What You Bring

-Work efficiently and effectively with little supervision, as an individual and with a team. -Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook). -Prior experience with 3D modeling or drafting software platforms. -Strong knowledge of AutoCAD. -Willingness to learn new software programs. -Be capable of communicating effectively, both orally and through written communication. -Previous work experience with building electrical distribution, lighting systems, MV or HV applications, generators, transformers, switchgears, MCC’s, PLC automation, SCADA, or control systems. -Strong attention to detail. -Be capable of visualizing and communicating complex details. -Ability to successfully work to meet tight deadlines while producing accurate and highly detailed drawings and technical documents. -Effectively and accurately communicate information and ideas. -Possess knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code. -Completion of a three-year electrical engineering technology diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution. -Ability to travel to project sites on an as required basis for ½ day or 1 day site visits.

KGS Group is an employee-owned equal opportunity company offering an excellent compensation and benefits package. The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $90,000 annually.
