The Designer Staff (Modeler) works as part of a team to develop comprehensive, functionally and dimensionally accurate physical layouts of electrical, communications, and other systems based on engineering designs, specifications, and material submittals, ensuring project needs and constructability objectives are met.
Key duties include reviewing and analyzing electrical drawings, specifications, and submittals; creating 3D models of pathway and circuit layouts under the direction of the VDC lead and field installation leads; adjusting equipment layouts per engineering design; participating in design coordination and resolving conflicts; producing coordination/shop drawings, installation details, and sketches to support field tasks.
Candidates need 8+ years of commercial electrical field experience (or a combination of field and design experience) and may have associate or bachelor’s degrees. They must meet U.S. citizenship and security clearance requirements, demonstrate strong attention to detail, problem‑solving, and teamwork, and possess knowledge of the NEC, field installation best practices, and software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BlueBeam. Completed electrical apprenticeship and journeyman or master electrician status are strongly desired, along with the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and perform necessary physical and communication tasks.
