Principal Design Manager

Description

• Oversee the development of conceptual and detailed designs, including space planning, load allocation, and system integration.
• Support the preparation of technical documentation, reports, and specifications to facilitate construction and commissioning.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and sustainability across all design activities.
• Mentor and support junior design staff, fostering development and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Lead and manage multi-disciplinary design teams, ensuring all electrical, mechanical, and architectural designs for data centre projects are aligned with project requirements, standards, and client expectations.
• Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and consultants to resolve design challenges and ensure seamless integration across disciplines.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, codes, and best practices within the data centre sector.

Requirements

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Manager, guiding the delivery of data centre projects from concept through detailed design and construction. This role will play a pivotal part in managing and growing the design team while ensuring high-quality, coordinated, and innovative design solutions..

You need to be living and eligible to work in England to be suitable for this position.

• Experience with Revit /BIM software
• A Bachelor and/or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Ideally 5+ years relevant work experience within the construction or engineering industry
