The Field Accountant—also referred to as Project Accountant—will be based in Waco, TX, and works full‑time in the construction department. This role is responsible for accurate collection, assimilation, entry, and auditing of all project‑related time and material billing records to support customer billing, adhering to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Working in field environments such as hotel conference rooms, command centers, or trailers, the accountant must remain detail‑oriented, use sound judgment to resolve audit discrepancies, and finalize billing decisions while maintaining flexibility and focus alongside the deployed Operations Team.
- Assimilate data from multiple sources to account for job resources, reviewing documentation, purchase orders, cost reports, and third‑party auditor inputs.
- Maintain complete and accurate job/customer files; identify, reconcile, and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Communicate with project personnel and auditors to resolve audit issues, exercising judgment and discretion.
- Analyze trends and recommend process improvements.
- Produce specialized reports tailored to customer needs.
- Travel to job sites up to 75% of the time.

Candidates should have 1‑2 years of accounting or finance experience, a degree in accounting or finance, and strong technology skills, particularly intermediate‑level Microsoft Excel. The position requires effective collaboration, time‑management, self‑motivation, and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time and work overtime or weekends when needed.
