The Essential Functions of the Field Services Groundman include working on sites, managing on‑site functions, and enhancing efficiency and customer service through various reporting and tracking processes. The role supports the project manager and superintendent in day‑to‑day operations of construction projects.
- Perform routine quality control and assurance inspections
- Conduct crew visits and monitor project schedules
- Prepare purchase orders and contracts
- Oversee daily work of subcontractors
- Estimate costs and monitor vendor expenditures
- Evaluate environmental impact and right‑of‑way plans to ensure compliance
- Draft and submit project reports
- Assist in field operations planning and troubleshooting
- Analyze data to support overall project objectives
- Maintain regular attendance and adhere to company code of conduct
- Learn project safety processes and basic quality control monitoring
- Complete production, cost, and scheduling reports
