Municipal Engineering Designer/EIT

Description

• Collect and analyze data and use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
• Provide as needed support in the design, and analysis of municipal water / wastewater / drainage conveyance infrastructure under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Perform construction inspections.
• Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
• Prepare project specifications under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Support the preparation of documentation for design projects and reports.

Requirements

• Possess the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines across multiple projects
• Capable of using spreadsheet, work processing and standard office software
• Demonstrated communication skills through publications or presentations, and work
• Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
• Candidate must have completed Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Process), or have demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Eligibility for registration with EGBC as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
• Experience with project management concepts, principles, and duties
• Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, AutoCAD, BioWin, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)
• Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.
• Build analytic and design skills.
