The role involves providing specialized turbine and generator nondestructive examinations (NDE) to clients, using various techniques. The examiner will join a team of highly specialized technicians to assess the condition of critical rotating equipment and related components, with experience in phased‑array UT, Automated UT, or gas‑turbine NDE considered a plus.
- Conduct independent NDE examinations on rotating equipment using methods such as MT, PT, UT, ET, or RT.
- Troubleshoot and maintain NDE equipment, including setup, calibration, and interpretation of results.
- Provide on‑job training and supervisory guidance to entry‑level technicians.
- Apply mechanical concepts and spatial reasoning to assess component condition.
- Participate in projects subject to Export Administration Regulations and DOE/NRC controls.

A NDE Level II Examiner is an experienced professional who has secured and maintained Level II certification in at least one surface examination method (MT, PT, or ET) and one volumetric method (UT, ET, or RT). Additional training or certification in other methods may be provided to meet core competencies and customer expectations.
- Exhibit strong integrity, teamwork, safety consciousness, and adaptability to difficult environments and extensive travel.
- Secure Level II certification in at least two surface methods and one volumetric method within six months of hire.
- Hold a high school diploma (or equivalent) with coursework toward an AS/BS in science, materials, or engineering and 2+ years relevant experience.
- Operate safely in dirty, radiological, high‑heat/cold, noisy, or confined spaces, including work at heights and near active machinery.
