You will drive the development and implementation of modern data systems aligned with our long-term vision, ensuring our data infrastructure is robust, future-ready, and delivers real business impact.

  • Design conceptual and logical data models, flowcharts, and visual representations of data processes.
  • Document the existing data platform landscape, assess risks, and ensure a comprehensive understanding of the environment.
  • Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data.
  • Guide, influence, and challenge teams to understand the benefits and trade-offs of different solution options.
  • Provides thought leadership in data domains and champions best practices.
  • Set and agree on the technical direction for the data platform landscape in collaboration with delivery and engineering teams.
  • Align stakeholders, technology teams, third parties, and vendors with the architectural vision.
  • Assess database implementation procedures to ensure compliance with GDPR and data governance standards.
  • Advise project teams and oversee management of the full data production lifecycle.
  • Maintain integrity and security of company data.
  • Produce high-quality, consistent deliverables throughout all phases of project delivery.
  • Design solutions that meet people, process, and technology needs, providing a clear route from “As-Is” to “To-Be” architectures.
  • Ensure systems are designed according to established data architecture principles.
  • Ensure data solutions and models are delivered effectively and meet agreed technical standards throughout the project lifecycle.

We are seeking a seasoned professional to take a leading role in designing and evolving the backbone of our data architecture. This strategic position will leverage your technical expertise to influence everything from high-level conceptual models to optimized, scalable solutions.

  • Agile architecture experience; familiarity with SCRUM, PRINCE2, and Lean methodologies.
  • Extensive experience as a Data Architect or Lead Data Engineer.
  • Comprehensive experience across the technology delivery lifecycle from inception to maintenance.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain architectural approaches to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of database fundamentals, metadata-driven ingestion, and transformation pipelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to communicate complex concepts, influence stakeholders, and ‘sell’ ideas.
  • Skilled communicator, able to align messaging and mediate effectively between technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Customer- and data-centric in approach.
  • Demonstrates pragmatic judgement, balancing pace, risk, and business value.
  • Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server; skilled in designing and maintaining data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouses.
  • Skilled in using visual techniques to simplify complex architectural concepts.
  • Familiarity with Azure Cloud Services, including DataBricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, CosmosDB, and related services.
  • Expertise in data modelling to at least 3NF, database structures, and data mining.
  • Proficiency in Kimball methodology and Data Vaults.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to reconcile conflicting requirements and deliver high-performance, high-quality solutions.
  • Experienced with structured and unstructured datasets and designing data applications and integration systems.
  • Experience with Master Data Management (MDM), data cataloguing, and managing data lineage.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
