Oversee means and methods of collecting necessary field data by working with field personnel. Oversee and/or collect and interpret field data through observation or field data collection techniques using field instruments such as survey equipment, tape measures, flow meters, turbidity samplers, sieve analysis, cameras, pumps, data loggers, remediation equipment, and other instruments as needed.
Oversee and/or prepare a wide range of groundwater and contaminant fate and transport calculations, and cost estimates, hydrogeological assessments, construction cost estimates, and determine the feasibility of a project or project feature based on analysis of the calculation., cost estimates, and other collected data.
Oversee, review, evaluate, and/or provide interpretations of engineering design and environmental reports, maps, drawings, specifications, regulations, ordinances, permits, field test results, design manuals, aerial photographs, and other data necessary for environmental projects.
As an experienced member of a project team, collaborate with project team members (internal and external) and others to execute assignments efficiently and effectively. Provide technical support and direction to junior staff members. Collect environmental media samples both individually and as part of a field team; operate necessary field equipment and instruments; perform soil and bedrock characterization; , and perform other field tasks and oversight as needed. Support project manager with cost documentation for project and field work.
Oversee and/or prepare, review, and modify, as necessary, technical reports, specifications, plans, engineering calculations, engineering design drawings, construction schedules, and cost estimates for a project. Work with team members to complete environmental and remediation investigation projects, including sampling, drilling, and decontamination tasks.
Work with project team members to perform and complete a wide range of projects. Provide mentoring to entry-level and mid-level staff in the application of engineering and/or scientific theory, principles, and practices.
As a leader of a field team or project team, direct team members and others to effectively execute assignments, provide value to the project manager (effective management of subcontractors, preparing cost estimates, and leading the team to meet project objectives of schedule and budget), and show strong organizational and managerial skills. Actively provide mentoring of work tasks to less experienced team members.
Oversee and use scientific software and computer hardware necessary to complete engineering analysis, hydrogeologic analysis, and engineering design projects. Software may include GIS, spreadsheet applications, hydrogeologic software, boring log software, and other applicable software.

Experience with ArcGIS and RockWorks is preferred.
Knowledge of chemical fate and transport concepts, experience in conducting environmental investigations, bedrock environmental investigations, and experience with interpreting hydrogeologic data in overburden and bedrock. This position also requires experience leading field teams, including overseeing contractors.
P.G. license is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with and demonstrated expertise in applicable environmental rules and regulations is required.
A minimum of six years of related experience is required; minimum of 10 year’s professional experience in the investigation and/or remediation of environmentally impacted sites is preferred.
Must have working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software applications, necessary engineering design software applications, internet searching techniques, electronic mail, and company intranet and servers. Software may include GIS, spreadsheet applications, hydrogeologic software, boring log software, and Microsoft office products.
Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: development and completion of large field programs, impacted mine sites, numerical groundwater modeling, geostatistics, natural attenuation evaluations, geochemistry, geophysical data evaluation, NHDES regulations, and the CERCLA process.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in science or engineering (e.g., Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Earth Science, or related field) is required. An emphasis on hydrogeology, aqueous geochemistry, and/or bedrock structural geology coursework is preferred. A Master of Science (M.S.) degree is highly desirable.
Must have OSHA 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification and annual 8-hour refresher, as applicable.
