The Administrative Clerk provides clerical and administrative support for various departments, performing varied and moderately complex typing, clerical functions, and related general office duties that require independent judgment. Responsibilities include producing finished documents efficiently using word processing and spreadsheet programs, independently editing documents for spelling and grammar, and maintaining confidentiality and security of records in accordance with corporate and facility procedures. The clerk also oversees incoming and outgoing mail according to applicable rules and regulations and communicates effectively with staff, inmates, and visitors, responding to verbal and written inquiries and requests.
Qualifications include a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent, and at least two years of full-time clerical or administrative office experience. Additional education at an accredited college, business school, or technical institute in office administration or a related field may substitute for up to one year of required experience on a year‑for‑year basis. Experience with Microsoft Office or similar software is preferred, a valid driver’s license is required, and candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
