The Waste Disposal Coordinator is responsible for approvals, permitting, and approving material profiles for the TSDF facility. The role independently certifies that waste is received and processed safely and compliantly, securing final disposal facility approvals. It also reviews waste profiles and documentation to ensure employee safety, regulatory compliance, and profitability.
Core duties include reviewing paperwork and samples for completeness, safety, and compliance with permits and regulations. The coordinator identifies potential waste‑stream issues, directs them to the appropriate department, and assists with completing and approving waste profiles. Coordination with other departments is required to arrange third‑party vendor shipments to alternate TSDFs, approve QA/QC documents, and secure final disposal approvals. Additional responsibilities involve providing regulatory interpretation, auditing final disposal facilities, acting as a liaison between operations and sales, and supporting pricing for safe, legal treatment or removal of materials.
Preferred qualifications include strong knowledge of waste characterization principles, persuasive communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across regulatory, operational, and financial units. Minimum qualifications require at least two years of progressive experience with RCRA, DOT, TSCA, and related state regulations, plus understanding of industrial safety, hygiene, and hazardous waste handling. Candidates should be adept at interpreting regulations and managing hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal operations.
