Position is primarily an office position, performs work at a desk. The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use stairs, ladders, and step stools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Employee must be able to wear the personal protective equipment (PPE) in order to conduct job site visits (hard hats, personal floatation devices, safety glasses, gloves, safety-toed shoes, respirators, etc.), and able to navigate stairs, ladders and gangways, board, work on and disembark floating vessels and structures.
The IT Lead Engineer is responsible for the IT Infrastructure and daily operations across multiple offices, jobsites, and marine vessels. This position will serve as the primary technical escalation point for the service desk and will be responsible for ensuring reliability, security, and scalability of all servers, networks and systems. The role’s requires excellent technical skills, strong communications abilities and a disciplined approach to planning and executing changes.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- At least 10 years of experience in IT Engineering roles
- Nutanix: NCA or NCP (preferred)
- SQL Server basics (backups, restores, service accounts)
- Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), DNS, DHCP, GPO
- Microsoft: AZ-104, MS-102, SC-300, or SC-400 (preferred)
- Nutanix AHV (or strong hypervisor experience)
- Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Administrator, Azure Administrator or similar (preferred)
- Experience supporting SIEM/EDR and MDM tools (preferred)
- SharePoint Development (Power Apps, Power Automate).
- CompTIA Network+ — baseline understanding of networking concepts (preferred)
- In-depth practical knowledge and experience with:
- PowerShell scripting and automation
- Identity & access management (Entra, ADFS, RADIUS, PKI)
- Backup systems (Datto, Veeam, HYCU, etc.)
- Windows Server 2016–2022
- KACE SMA (or enterprise patch/config tools)
- Experience participating in CMMC or NIST 800-171 readiness, gap assessments, or POA&M remediation (preferred)
- CompTIA Security+ — foundational cybersecurity knowledge (preferred)
