Electrical Designer Intern - Tulsa, OK

Description

• Create, revise, and maintain engineering and record drawings and sketches.
• Support creation, revision, and maintenance of facilities and equipment documents, including construction, equipment, and property records.
• Obtain required information from verbal communication, sketches, marked drawings, listings, field notes, vendor catalogs, technical manuals, and site visits.
• Perform mathematical calculations needed for assigned work.
• Read vendor prints, shop drawings, and equipment instructions and incorporate the information into work.

Requirements

This internship uses computer-aided drafting (CAD) to create and update 3D inventory parts, assemblies, and drawings, as well as 2D AutoCAD Electrical drawings. It is based in Tulsa, OK, and requires onsite work five days a week, providing a foundation for a future engineering career.

The role is sedentary, involving occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds and frequent light activity such as sitting, walking, or standing briefly. Physical demands meet the S – Sedentary classification.

• Proficiently use Autodesk CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical, Civil3D, Inventor, and Vault.
• Proficiently use Microsoft Office software.
• Completed at least one year toward an associate degree in drafting/CAD or relevant engineering technology, or equivalent experience/education.
• Must be at least 18 years old, graduate December 2026 or later, and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Physical demand level is sedentary; familiar with conventional drafting symbols, methods, and color distinction.

Benefits

Compensation is commensurate with education hours, ranging from $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, and includes paid AEP‑recognized holidays and a 401(k) account. The position is classified as a Co‑Op/Intern (Compensation Grade Co‑Op/Intern‑001).
