The Role

Tasks

-Provide tax input to the regulatory return process -Ensure changes in tax legislation are fully understood and communicated to the business -Manage tax risk associated with M&A and investment activity -Proactively manage SGN’s relationship with HMRC -Provide clear tax advice to assist with ad-hoc projects and business support, demonstrating commercial awareness and technical expertise. -Manage SGN’s tax affairs covering corporate tax, VAT, employment taxes, and customs compliance obligations, ensuring technical accuracy of all tax submissions -Preparation of tax related calculations and disclosures for inclusion in the Group's statutory accounts -Contribute to the Group’s budgeting and forecasting process including calculation of tax instalments

What You Bring

-Significant experience of dealing with HMRC and addressing queries raised by HMRC. -Significant experience in dealing with corporate tax matters. -Qualified to at least Chartered Accountant and / or Chartered Tax Adviser level, with at least 5 years post-qualifying tax experience. -Excellent time management skills. -Ideally trained with a Big 4 accountancy firm. -The ability to apply professional judgement and experience when providing advice. -Excellent people and communication skills, as the role involves negotiating with and dealing with both internal and external stakeholders. -Experience of working in the tax department of a large organisation, in private practice or HMRC. -Strong technical knowledge across all relevant areas of taxation.
