Inspect and finish ductwork components; perform grinding, deburring, and apply insulation or lining as needed.
This is all to be done using the appropriate equipment and implementing the required safety practices in support of RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Operate CNC plasma cutting tables (e.g., Vulcan or similar) to cut galvanized, stainless, or aluminum sheet metal.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment; follow safety procedures and attend regular safety meetings.
Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and shop tickets to determine cutting and fabrication requirements.
Fabricate and assemble HVAC ductwork (rectangular, spiral, fittings), ensuring proper sealing and compliance.
Use various fabrication tools and machines including shears, roll formers, Pittsburgh, TDC, and slip rolls.
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Ductwork Plasma Operator & Fabricator to join our dynamic team at our Jacksonville, NC prefabrication warehouse. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a CNC plasma cutting system and fabricating high-quality HVAC duct components in accordance with industry standards and project specifications.
2+ years of experience with CNC plasma cutting tables in a sheet metal or HVAC environment.
Familiarity with SMACNA standards is preferred.
Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings accurately.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, and moving for extended periods.
Proficiency in basic math and use of measuring tools.
Experience operating standard sheet metal fabrication equipment.
