The Permitting Manager provides mentorship and proactive leadership to a team of environmental professionals supporting capital expansion and tactical projects. This role requires an effective leader who can influence others to promote environmental stewardship and successful project execution while aligning with Williams’ core values.
Key responsibilities include establishing consistent permitting processes, managing work division and procedures to meet stakeholder needs, and ensuring the team’s priorities align with company goals. The manager leads incident investigations, coordinates resources—including contractors—for permitting and construction compliance, and provides technical interpretation of environmental regulations.
The manager works with internal teams and external partners to develop and implement permitting strategies for all projects, builds high‑performing work teams, and handles additional duties as assigned.
Required qualifications are a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, at least six years of energy‑industry experience with five years in a supervisory role, and strong organizational, interpersonal, and safety‑focused skills. Preferred credentials include professional licenses or certifications, NEPA review experience under BLM or FERC, and environmental due‑diligence expertise.
