You will lead design efforts on moderate to complex projects and support larger, high‑complexity projects with limited senior oversight. Responsibilities include project management, engineering analysis, design and implementation oversight of building electrical systems, budget management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to meet client expectations.
- Lead design efforts for electrical system analysis using engineering software to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations per code and IMEG standards
- Perform site assessments and generate detailed analysis and technical reports
- Interact with clients to understand needs, gather requirements, and communicate technical information; build and maintain professional relationships
- Conduct in‑process design reviews and apply IMEG quality control processes to meet industry and client standards
- Train, mentor, and motivate staff
- Provide technical assistance for field issues with limited senior support
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices; contribute to research and innovation
- Prioritize safety and mitigate potential electrical system risks
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions
- Participate in project interviews and presentations
- Edit master specifications using eSPECS and work proficiently with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
- Mentor, train, motivate, and lead others
- Perform final quality control checks in area of expertise
- Sell work and develop client relationships
- Coordinate, oversee, and manage projects of varying size and complexity
- Assist executives with design scopes, fee calculations, proposal generation, and contract reviews
- Create project schedules with milestone and deadline targets
- Serve as primary point of contact for teams and clients
- Prepare monthly billings, submit financial data to Accounting, and update billing projections
- Ensure designs meet owner, IMEG, and code standards; achieve milestone deliverables and provide timely construction support
- Collaborate with design staff, schedule projects across all phases, lead progress meetings, and document outcomes
- Conduct construction site visits and provide required documentation
- Address client and construction concerns, manage change orders, and obtain approvals

The company is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer/Designer for its Minneapolis, MN office. In this role you will provide high‑level leadership, mentoring, and training to less experienced staff, and you may focus on technical design, project management, marketing, or business development.
Candidates must hold a BS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and have at least seven years of experience in building design consulting; a Professional Engineer license is preferred. Required abilities include advanced technical knowledge of circuit theory, power systems, IES standards, specification editing, and proficiency with software such as eSPECS, Adobe/Bluebeam, and the MS Office suite.
