The Line Operator is responsible for daily production‑line activities, including housekeeping, safety, quality control, maintaining production efficiencies, and performing repairs to minimize downtime. The role requires flexibility to work 40 + hours per week, including weekends and varying shifts for equipment changeovers.
- Manage a plastic extrusion line to meet customer quality specifications.
- Follow standard operating procedures to keep the production line within specifications.
- Lead line tooling changes, start‑ups, and shutdowns.
- Maintain a safe work environment through proper PPE and housekeeping compliance.
- Accurately complete shift production and reporting paperwork.
- Conduct regular product sampling to ensure consistent quality.
- Assist with the preventative maintenance program.
- Meet or exceed standard production efficiencies on all lines.
- Obtain certifications to operate various production lines.
- Troubleshoot process and mechanical issues, performing repairs and adjustments as needed.
- Perform tooling changeovers safely and efficiently.
- Practice continuous improvement for both the line and facility housekeeping.
- Apply mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Operate heavy machinery, such as forklifts, safely.
- Perform physical labor for extended periods in fluctuating temperatures.
- Execute full‑range body motions, including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting, and mounting/dismounting equipment.
- Stand and stay mobile throughout a 12‑hour shift.
- Use hands, arms, and legs to handle and transport finished goods.

Candidates must possess mechanical troubleshooting and repair abilities, basic computer skills, analytical problem‑solving, and the capacity to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts safely. A high‑school diploma or equivalent is required; previous experience in manufacturing machine operation or extrusion is preferred. The position involves extended physical labor, full‑body motion, and standing for 12‑hour shifts.
