- Prepare concentrations
- Stocks laboratory supplies.
- Cleans work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
- Washes laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.
- Retrieves samples from Sample Control for analysis.
- Prepares general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
- Resolves discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
- Performs sample preparation which may include, but is not limited to, a combination of the following methods:
- Prepare reagents
- Assists other laboratory areas as needed.

- Proficiency in maintaining and calibrating aquarium equipment (filters, pumps, heaters)
- Skill in maintaining clean and sterile environments to prevent contamination
- Basic knowledge of aquatic biology and ecology
- Experience with water quality testing (pH, salinity, temperature, ammonia, DO)
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
- high school diploma required
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 25lbs
- Aliquot samples
- Ability to monitor and record fish and shrimp health, behavior, and growth
- Understanding of feeding protocols and nutritional requirements for these species
- Prior familiarity with fish and aquariums is ideal
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
- Knowledge of breeding and larval rearing techniques for aquatic species
- Degree in Marine Biology, Wildlife Biology , or equivalent preferred, but not required
- Must be available for overtime and weekends when required.
- Aquarium Experience preferred.
