- Maintain plant storeroom, inventory control and consumable supplies for maintenance, process control, and electrical/instrumentation sections.
- Manage and maintain the Maintenance Inventory in the CMMS.
- Assist the Maintenance Planner with the use of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for planning and reporting on all maintenance activity for the respective department.
- Prepare and distribute work orders, preventive maintenance orders, and summary of weekly preventive maintenance activities.
- Frequently positions self to move, traverse and lift up to 50 lbs to perform required work. Objects greater than 50 lbs require a two-person operation.
- Maintain the tool accountability/control system.
- Performs routine tasks such as general facility maintenance.
- Maintain and update technical manual library and files.
- May be required to attend intra/interdepartmental cross training.
- Prepare purchase requisitions for inventory and project materials as necessary.
- Review equipment technical manuals for preparation of standard maintenance and operating procedures.
- May be required to work during emergency conditions.
- Maintain technical manual library and research technical issues.
- Control issuance and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- May be required to work with / around chemicals such as chlorine gas and ammonia gas.
- May be required to conduct training sessions.
- Research parts and contacts vendors, pick up and stage parts, receive and inspect material deliveries to insure quality and quantities are accurate.

- Routinely ascend/descend ladders, stairs and ramps as high as thirteen (13) stories at Plum Island and three (3) stories at Hanahan. Ability to work at elevated height levels as needed to perform various task.
- Ability to effectively communicate in writing, verbally and with a 2-way radio, to include comprehension of complex oral and written instruction.
- Ability to express and receive detailed information through oral communication.
- Worker may be required to wear a respirator and/or self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
- Specialized computer and software skills; proficient computer skills with windows based word processing and spreadsheet software (prefer Word and Excel) and Visio.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Constantly positions self to move, traverse for long distances as necessary to perform required work. Ability to traverse on uneven ground while safely maneuvering equipment on wheels.
- Ability to complete the “D” Level Biological Wastewater Correspondence Course.
- Must obtain a forklift education certification within six (6) months of hire date.
- Constantly works in internal / external environmental conditions. Subject to atmospheric conditions of one or more of the following that affect the respiratory system or skin: Fumes (paint), odors, dusts, gases, etc. Personnel Protective Equipment Required.
- Occasionally positions self to use up to 50 lbs of force and/or up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
- Required to work with chemicals used in water and wastewater treatment processes.
- Prior work record indicating dependability and conscientiousness.
- Ability to observe and comprehend computer screens and software to generate reports, specifications, memos, and letters.
- Ability to reach, pull, handle documents, tools and equipment as required to perform routine tasks. Must be able to turn valve operator wheels and chain mechanisms.
- Job performance must conform to all CWS policies and procedures.
- Experience dealing with vendors in ordering inventory.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
- Valid South Carolina Driver's License required.
- Working knowledge of tools, equipment and machinery in an industrial environment.
- Three (3) years experience in an industrial, maintenance or inventory position.
- Subject to noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. Hearing Protection Required
- Ability to operate and maintain motor vehicles.
- Ability to work independently of others.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Familiarity with safe handling practices for materials.
- Specific knowledge of CWS Environmental Management System Policy and Procedures.
- OSHA and Departmental safety training as required.
- ISO 14001 standards for department and company.
- Standard Operating Instruction (SOI) per department requirements
- Must be able to wear Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) as defined in the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) to perform the required essential functions.
