Determine accurate information and calculations as associated with each sales order
Listen, understand, and convey customer requirements
Evaluate needs of the customer and provide technical solutions and selections that best fit the company’s product portfolio
Deliver technical training support and presentations to internal teams and external customers
Advise and assist field sales personnel and their clients on product technical details, application requirements, etc. to obtain solutions of specific application problems
Serve as the liaison between external customers and internal departments

Coordinate order and project information with project manager to ensure smooth and timely handoff
Analyze RFQ drawing sets and project specifications to provide appropriate scope, site-specific needs, and compliance requirements

Assist in pricing special options
Collaborate with internal engineering departments (Ratings, Components, Controls) as necessary
Provide product support information/ direction from existing manuals, bulletins and guides
Provide technical support to sales representatives, direct account managers, contractors, engineers, end-users and internal departments
Collaborate with sales staff to evaluate project requirements and recommend competitive solutions
Develop effective strategies based on thorough analysis of project variables, thus maximizing the likelihood of winning jobs
Assist with pricing change orders as necessary
Assist product development in developing new and/or enhanced products by communicating trends, needs and issues in the marketplace
Respond to quote requests (functional, technical, and pricing elements) in a timely manner
Assist with SPX factory & R&D tours for internal teams and external customers as required
Identify opportunities for process improvement and streamlining technical support procedures
Support proposal development by incorporating wind/seismic considerations, sound requirements, controls requirements, and pricing for other special or custom features
Prepare accurate, complete submittal documents for timely client delivery

Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering, preferred

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Knowledge of cooling towers, fluid coolers, dry coolers and adiabatic coolers is a plus
Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems is a plus
Strong technical aptitude
Fundamental knowledge in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics
Familiarity with HVAC and refrigeration systems
Good understanding of technical and commercial project variables with the ability to proactively initiate action based on that understanding
Minimum of 2 years of experience
Ability to read engineering drawings
