Description

The Passive Fire Surveyor will perform building surveys, identify fire risks, and recommend safety improvements.

Key duties involve fire‑door and compartmentation inspections, client interaction, and reporting, while staying current with industry standards.

• Conduct fire‑door inspections and compartmentation surveys on residential and educational buildings in London and the South‑East.
• Liaise with residents and clients while on‑site.
• Identify breaches in fire compartmentation and evaluate existing safety measures.
• Prepare clear, concise reports outlining findings and recommendations.
• Keep up‑to‑date with current fire safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Cover Central and Greater London with occasional travel to client sites and the head office in Stafford.
• Stay overnight for assignments requiring travel beyond 1½ hours.

Requirements

We seek candidates with fire safety or building surveying experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a field‑based role across London.

• Understand and apply fire strategies during site assessments.
• Hold relevant experience in fire safety, building surveying, or a related field.
• Demonstrate proven experience in fire‑door and compartmentation surveying.
• Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
• Work independently and remotely as required.
• Possess a full driver’s licence with no more than six penalty points.
• Undergo a DBS Enhanced Check (provided by Karntek).
• Possess FDIS training (advantageous) and a CSCS Card (advantageous).
