Plans, directs and controls the efforts of the Maintenance Department to maintain plant equipment and facilities according to good engineering practices.
The manager oversees the preventive maintenance program and ensures all equipment and facilities are kept in safe, efficient condition. Responsibilities include developing and administering a qualified maintenance organization, scheduling repairs to minimize downtime, and consulting with other departments on equipment modifications and replacements to improve operations and reduce costs. The role also coordinates the maintenance of plant transportation equipment, ensures adequate spare parts inventory, and provides leadership and training to MRF Maintenance Technicians. Preventative inspections and corrective repairs must meet or exceed company standards.
Preferred Skills and Experience: Minimum of two years of leadership experience, five years of hands‑on plant maintenance experience, preferably with conveyor belts, industrial machines, electrical and hydraulics. Ability to train and develop employees and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Schedule is third shift, starting at 10 pm on Sundays.
Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or G.E.D. and four years of relevant work experience. Preferred qualifications consist of two years of leadership experience, five years of hands‑on plant maintenance experience, and familiarity with conveyor belts, industrial machines, electrical and hydraulics.
