You’ll join the team that keeps automation projects moving, partnering with system integrators and manufacturers to ensure flawless operation. Responsibilities include supporting data‑center startups, performing on‑site mechanical, electrical, and control checks, leading startup and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment and manufacturing systems, and collaborating with automation and controls engineers to test, troubleshoot, and validate systems. Clear communication with customers and project teams is essential, and travel follows rotating schedules such as 5 on‑2 off, 10 on‑4 off, or 14 on‑7 off.
For those who’d rather be on the move than behind a desk, ProAutomated is opening its 2026 hiring pipeline for curious, adaptable problem‑solvers who love travel, hands‑on work, and being part of a team that knows your name. If you can laugh through flight delays, figure things out on the fly, and enjoy solving complex problems, this role may be a perfect fit.
We seek candidates who love travel, can thrive on rotating schedules, and live within 50 miles of a major airport (relocation assistance available). Preferred experience includes working knowledge of electrical systems, programming, and communication networking, along with adaptability, grit, strong communication, and problem‑solving skills. Applicants must have a technical degree or equivalent 3+ years of hands‑on experience in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering, be authorized to work in the U.S., and possess a personal vehicle within 45 days of employment. Physical duties involve walking long distances, climbing ladders or heights, lifting up to 50 lb, and working in varied environments such as construction sites or outdoors.
We are transparent about our four‑week paid training, which prepares technically skilled individuals for field work. Success in training requires a basic foundation in electrical systems, programming, and communication networking, so candidates lacking these basics may not yet be the right fit.
ProAutomated offers a travel‑centric career where you experience new cities, tackle unique projects, and earn travel rewards while working directly with customers across North America. Compensation starts at $60,000–$75,000 plus per‑diem, mileage reimbursement, utilization and weekend bonuses, and we provide paid training, annual merit raises, and a guaranteed 5 % salary increase after six months. Comprehensive benefits include health, dental, life insurance, a matching 401(k), disability coverage, paid vacation, and flexible time off after 18 months. Our people‑first culture emphasizes teamwork, humor, and leaders who have risen through the same ranks.
