Description

The Senior Director, Total Rewards is a strategic leader responsible for designing, optimizing, and governing the company’s compensation, benefits, and rewards programs. This role develops frameworks to attract, retain, and motivate talent while ensuring internal equity, market competitiveness, and regulatory compliance. The Senior Director partners with senior executives, HRBPs, Finance, and business leaders to create a data‑driven rewards strategy that supports growth, integration, and evolving workforce needs.

• Develop and maintain a compensation philosophy aligned with business strategy and values.
• Design, model, and administer total rewards architecture, including base pay, salary bands, job architecture, and performance‑based programs.
• Govern commission, bonus, equity, and other cash or non‑cash incentive plans, evaluating effectiveness and recommending enhancements.
• Implement incentive governance standards for eligibility, calculations, documentation, and dispute resolution.
• Oversee annual compensation cycles (merit, bonus, equity) ensuring accuracy, fairness, and budget alignment.
• Advise executives and HRBPs on offers, promotions, retention strategies, and compensation risk mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with wage‑and‑hour, pay transparency, and other regulatory requirements.
• Lead strategy, planning, and administration of employee benefits, including health, welfare, retirement, leave, and voluntary offerings.
• Manage benefits renewal RFPs, vendor negotiations, and recommendations balancing cost, competitiveness, and employee experience.
• Govern 401(k) and retirement programs, including plan design, audits, nondiscrimination testing, and Form 5500 filings.
• Optimize benefits portfolio for market competitiveness, inclusivity, and regulatory compliance.
• Own vendor management for all benefits providers, establishing service standards and driving continuous improvement.
• Direct benefits communication and education to enhance employee understanding and participation.
• Oversee compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, Section 125, and related state mandates.
• Analyze utilization trends and cost drivers to recommend program improvements and cost containment.
• Manage leave of absence programs ensuring integrated, compliant, employee‑friendly processes.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years progressive experience in compensation, benefits, or total rewards.
• At least 5 years leading teams and advising senior executives.
• Deep expertise in incentive design, job architecture, and compensation governance.
• Experience managing reward programs in complex, multi‑entity or multi‑site organizations.
• Strong knowledge of compliance requirements (FLSA, pay transparency, ACA, ERISA, etc.).
• Advanced analytical, modeling, and problem‑solving skills.
• Preferred experience in high‑growth, manufacturing, operations, sales‑driven, or private‑equity environments.
