Quality Assurance Technician

Description

• Travel to active jobsites, including out-of-town projects, as needed.
• Manage and support QA/QC functions on assigned projects as directed by the QA/QC Department Manager or Supervisor.
• Support administrative tasks and documentation control as directed.
• Schedule and attend regular meetings with project teams to review inspection progress and schedules.
• Create and manage nonconformance reports for damaged or deficient equipment.
• Coordinate with General Contractors’ QA/QC teams and participate in joint inspections.
• Identify punch list items during wall and overhead inspections and confirm completion through the QA/QC system.
• Provide guidance and support for project teams using the QuickBase QA/QC App.
• Conduct and document inspections — including underground, temporary power, equipment, switchboards, and panelboards — in the QuickBase QA/QC App.
• Participate in project handoff meetings to understand scope, requirements, and QA/QC expectations.
• Promote and reinforce use of Best Practice Guides to ensure consistent, high-quality installations.
• Verify that all project closeout documentation is complete and accurate.
• Verify torque and megger testing documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Foster positive relationships and promote an upbeat, solutions-focused work climate.

Requirements

The QA/QC Technician supports project quality and performance by conducting on-site inspections, collaborating with field and project management teams, and ensuring all installations meet company and client standards. This position plays a critical role in maintaining consistency, accuracy, and safety across assigned projects. Success in this role requires a proactive mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to evolving project needs and tight deadlines.

• Comfortable working on active construction sites and performing physical inspections (climbing, kneeling, working at heights).
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to adapt to changing demands.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to produce accurate reports and correspondence.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and utilize required PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the electrical construction industry, preferably at the Foreman or Superintendent level.
• Exposure to diverse, high-profile construction projects across multiple markets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and the QuickBase QA/QC App.
