What you would be doing

Transports equipment, test specimens and/or documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients or other offices, and provides physical assistance in equipment set-up.
Assists other technicians or professional staff on tasks and assists other departments as necessary.
Relays information to project manager and/or engineer, with limited in-field decision making.
Follows Atlas’ safety plans, programs, policies, and procedures.
Performs construction-related field tests as directed by the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Manager and Senior Engineer.
Performs field density testing on soil, concrete, asphalt and other construction materials.
Performs field quality control tests of in place concrete.
Enters daily field observation reports and summary reports electronically.

Excellent skills in technical writing and verbal communications.
Must be willing to travel within Kentucky and Indiana as required by assignments.
Valid driver’s license.
Physical strength, stamina and dexterity to lift and move 70 lbs, stoop, bend, and stand throughout the course of up to a 12-hour work day in varying weather conditions in varying terrain.
Ability to travel up to 10%, mostly within Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
Desire to obtain relevant professional registration or certifications, if not already obtained.
Travels to various construction sites primarily throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana, with the potential for overnight and/or weekend as needed.
Experience with concrete, soils, and asphalt testing is preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent. Continued education, college degree, and/or degree in technical fields a plus.
Work toward and achieve American Concrete Institute (ACI) Level 1 certification within six months of employment.
