The Field Engineer works under the direct supervision of the Superintendent, learning on the job while assisting with coordination and oversight of craft employees on construction sites. This position serves as a bridge between the field crew and project leadership, ensuring that work progresses efficiently.
- Assist in supervising craft personnel to ensure work meets design, budget, and schedule.
- Help plan work schedules, determine manpower, material quantities, and equipment needs.
- Monitor personnel for compliance with safety and work procedures.
- Advise Superintendent of potential problems and aid in problem solving.

- Required education: High School Diploma or equivalent, journeyman carpentry training, and 4 years field experience.
- Preferred education: Bachelor of Science in Building Construction or Civil Engineering.
- Preferred experience: Internship and/or 2 years field experience.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Possess working knowledge of construction technology, equipment, and methods.
- Have thorough understanding of safety requirements.
- Ability to motivate employees and handle diverse situations.
- Physical ability to see well (with correction) and coordinate eyes, hands, and fingers.
- Able to climb ladders and scaffolding and maintain balance.
- Capable of stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and working at heights.
- Can lift and carry objects up to 50 lb, occasionally more.
