Lifts and positions components on assembly table, using electric crane, jacks and shims.
Fabricates equipment by cutting, burning and welding various metals, and cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded. Sets up, assembles, and tacks weld parts.
Operates various equipment necessary to fabricate (jigs, fixtures, grinders, tape measure, level, hammer, etc.)
Removes rough spots from castings, using portable powered grinder and hand file, to finish welded parts.
Receives instructions, prints and work orders for the job. Plans details of working procedure and tools and material requirements.
Layout, position, align and fit components into welding fixture as instructed.
Set-up gas-shield, mig-weld and weld parts to job specifications.
Repairs broken or cracked parts, fill holes, welds various metal parts together.
Various positioning of metal components in assembly, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and rule.
Builds up worn or defective surfaces, and keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly
