The role operates in a customer‑facing environment for the Qatar business and as the commercial lead for the Bahrain marine business. It combines sales responsibility with technical management, ensuring International Paint maintains a preferred specification position and strong customer relationships across the region.
Key sales duties include developing and maintaining long‑standing relationships with major LNG customers, managing daily sales activities, delivering sales plans aligned with customer schedules, and handling tender submissions, contract implementation, and claim processing. The incumbent works closely with the Middle East Marine coatings team and aligns strategy with the regional sales manager.
Technical responsibilities involve representing AkzoNobel during maintenance and repair projects, producing final paint specifications, coordinating paint deliveries with logistics, and overseeing technical inspections at shipyards. The role also delivers product demonstrations, training, and problem‑solving support while ensuring equipment calibration and compliance with AkzoNobel guidelines.
Candidates must have at least five years in a sales or technical role and ten years in the ship‑building or ship‑repair painting industry, with strong silicone coating technology expertise and a NACE II or FROSIO III paint inspector qualification. Good English is required; Arabic or Korean is a plus. The ideal applicant works independently, demonstrates high integrity, and can act as the local authority on technical issues.
