The driver will transport, remove, deliver, and collect various liquid and solid hazardous wastes from customer sites, and will be required to load and unload trucks. They must be able to operate a variety of equipment, including vacuum trucks, box trucks, and any other devices that match their license when needed.
- Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Handle government documents such as manifests.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Perform trip inspections on equipment and loads for safety and roadworthiness.
- Comply with legislation on safe operation, driver hours, hazardous goods, customs, and weight limits.
- Maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions and verify proper equipment placement.
- Inspect vehicles before driving to confirm mechanical and safety systems are functional.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage.
- Verify completeness and accuracy of load-related documentation.
- Maintain logs of work hours and vehicle service status per regulations.
- Record and retain required documents (logbook, bills of lading, manifests) electronically or manually.
- Communicate effectively with the public, customers, and co‑workers verbally and in writing.
- Conduct periodic inspections to ensure loads are fastened and secure.
- Deliver products and paperwork to customers courteously and promptly.
- Clean up debris generated during loading or unloading.
- Provide feedback to supervisors on customer, mechanical, or delivery issues.
- Prioritize tasks, multitask, and use time‑management techniques effectively.

- Hold a valid CDL B with a clean driving record.
- Possess a tanker endorsement; hazmat endorsement is strongly desired.
- Be able to drive manual transmissions.
- Be available for weekend work on a bi‑weekly on‑call schedule.
- Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude for routine vehicle maintenance.
- Exhibit strong oral and written communication and organizational skills.
- Maintain a professional demeanor under stressful situations.
- Thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Possess manual dexterity and be able to lift 75+ lb.
