What you would be doing

- Adhere to statutory regulations, including Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH, and Electrical IEE regulations.
- Undertake fabric-related tasks including carpentry, painting, fitting ironmongery, and flooring.
- Carry out cross-trade work as required, within your level of competence.
- Diagnose faults, repair, and maintain complex and specialised hospital equipment (with training provided).
- Promote excellent customer service by liaising with stakeholders and addressing maintenance issues efficiently.
- Take part in the Fabric Team on-call rota, ensuring timely response to urgent issues.
- Monitor and check contractor work to ensure compliance with required standards.
- Support the Estates Management team in delivering a 24-hour maintenance service.
- Liaise with the Stores Team for requisition, supply, and secure handling of materials.
- Work in challenging environments, such as unblocking drains/sewers and dealing with biological hazards or fumes.
- Carry a radio or pager to provide immediate response when needed.

- Competent in Flooring and Upholstery
- Experience in Building maintenance and systems
- Basic competence with IT and PDA’s
- Due to the nature of the contract, successful candidate must be able to obtain a DBS Standard Check
- NVQ or City & Guilds Craft Certificate relevant to the trade or similar recognised trade
