Thermal Performance Engineer
Black & Veatch
Global engineering, procurement, consulting and construction firm shaping water, energy & infrastructure projects.
Perform thermal modeling, design reviews, testing, and support for power plant projects.
Provide technical support for carbon capture studies.
Participate as mechanical lead in feasibility studies and development support for new power projects including the areas of biofuels and hydrogen.
Interface with clients to understand requests and confirm successful project execution.
Perform thermal modeling of conventional generation power plants using Thermoflow software.
Monitor project schedules and budgets.
Execute performance testing of new & existing thermal and renewable energy plants.
Perform owner’s engineer design reviews of mechanical systems for power projects.
Support proposals for new business development opportunities.
Support power generation project owners and developers for new thermal energy projects.
Prepare and review other engineering deliverables such as reports, studies, and calculations.
Participate in condition assessments of existing power plants.
Procurement of major power plant equipment, upgrades, maintenance, and service agreements.
Evaluate new power and infrastructure projects to support financing.

This position would require working in a typical office environment. The position may entail prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, and the professional would ideally be able to maintain focus and attention to detail throughout the workday. The position may also be require physical tasks during site visits, including crouching, grasping, and standing/walking for extended periods of time.
10 or more years of experience in the electric power industry, specifically experience in thermal power generation.
