Part Time Code Enforcement Official

Description

• Overall code compliance via scheduled inspections
• Review and comment on special inspection reports submitted and document any deficiencies encountered and to provide deficiency tracking, review corrective actions performed for achieving code compliance.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Completion of Code Inspection reports.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Experience with Institutional / Agency Construction preferred
• A minimum of 11 years of the experience in providing code compliance review and construction inspections. shall be in the role of superintendent or inspector responsible for large scale projects, multi-contract building projects, valued above $5 million with an extensive knowledge of all facets of construction and construction documents.
• Proven ability to adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of NYS Building Code
• This position is subject to and contingent upon client approval of candidates put forth for consideration by WSP.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be available to work alternate work hours on as needed basis.
• Valid driver’s license - Occasional travel within the region may be required.
• Certified by NYS Department of State, Division of Building Standards and Codes
• OSHA 30 Hour certified required
• Proficient in basic computer skills utilizing Windows / Outlook / Word / Excel and scheduling applications
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Must have a proficient level of knowledge relative to all aspects of construction codes and standards.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
