Youâll partner closely with the Director of IT Operations, managing outsourced partners, ensuring our environment stays secure, and building scalable frameworks to protect data and systems companywide.
- Collaborate with IT leadership to implement cybersecurity governance and monthly security briefings.
- Maintain documentation of security processes, configurations, and system updates.
- Lead awareness training and social-engineering simulations across the company.
- Lead a critical modernization effort for the worldâs largest pipe manufacturer.
- Partner with vendors and third-party service providers to strengthen security posture and network resilience.
- Manage technology that powers 1,000+ users and 20+ distributed sites across North America.
- Oversee network and remote-access security â SD-WAN, internet filtering, firewall configuration, VPN, and secure connectivity.
- Monitor and respond to security alerts using tools like Fortinet, Darktrace, CrowdStrike, Nessus, and Microsoft Defender.
- Conduct regular vulnerability scans, penetration tests, and remediation tracking.
- Manage security tools and services (endpoint protection, SIEM, MFA, SSO, VPN, firewalls, vulnerability management).
- Stay ahead of evolving threats and bring forward recommendations to continuously improve our defenses.

This role is ideal for a senior security engineer ready to step up into leadership of systems, vendors, and strategy â without losing the technical edge. Youâll spend about 60% of your time focused on cybersecurity (tools, monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management) and 40% on network infrastructure (SD-WAN, firewalls, VPN, and wireless support).
- Proven ability to manage vendors, contractors, and outsourced security partners.
- Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Understanding of ITIL, ITSM, and NIST frameworks; CISSP or similar certification preferred.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise security solutions.
- Deep knowledge of:
- Security technologies: MFA, SSO, VPN, endpoint protection, SIEM, encryption, network segmentation.
- Tools: Fortinet, Darktrace, Nessus, Palo Alto, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender.
- Own JM Eagleâs day-to-day cybersecurity operations â policies, monitoring, risk mitigation, and incident response.
- Familiarity with SD-WAN, mobile / wireless technologies, and network monitoring.
- 8+ years of experience in IT security and network engineering within a distributed environment (1,000+ users, 5+ sites).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
- A self-starter mindset â someone who owns the problem and drives it to resolution.
- Microsoft ecosystem: Azure, 365, Active Directory / Entra ID, SCCM / Intune.
