Verification of education and experience (including certifications and licenses)
Performs periodic preventive and corrective maintenance of communications equipment. Reads prints, diagrams and schematics of equipment to perform routine maintenance and/or repair of assigned equipment.
Uses test equipment in the performance of work. Replaces minor parts or components as directed and assists in the installation/relocation of assigned equipment according to authorized work orders.
Operates Authority vehicle between work areas as necessary.
Completes maintenance records on assigned equipment.
Assists higher level technicians in the preventive and corrective maintenance of communications equipment.
Complies with Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) safety rules and regulations.
Works various assigned shifts, based on a seven-day, 24-hour coverage schedule.
Attends assigned on-the-job and formal training classes.
