  • Apply expertise in switchgear product and sheet metal standardization and NEMA standards to optimize design efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop technical solutions leveraging Siemens product portfolio.
  • Coordinate closely with the project management team to facilitate smooth and effective project handover.
  • Support business development, proposal, and sales teams through active participation in customer discussions and technical presentations.
  • Customize mechanical switchgear drawings to meet specific customer needs and project constraints.
  • Ensure accuracy in geometric dimensioning and tolerances and apply sound principles of sheet metal structural design.
  • Analyse customer / product engineering specifications, commercial/technical documents, and product requirements to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Define the preliminary scope of work for switchgear systems and associated components along with sheet metal configurations, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Prepare detailed Bills of Materials (BOM), layout drawings, and specification review documents using engineering judgment and best practices.
  • Create detailed mechanical general arrangement drawings tailored to customer requirements.
  • Develop mechanical modelling concepts and sheet metal modifications for switchgear using Creo, NX (Siemens), Revit, 2D/3D CAD or 3D tools in accordance with NEMA standards.

  • Minimum of 8+ years of engineering experience in EPC, manufacturing, utility, or industrial environments.
  • Basic financial acumen to support business planning and product/project lifecycle management.
  • Ability to identify market trends and collaborate with Marketing and Technology teams to address gaps.
  • Ability to interpret customer technical documentation and propose Siemens product solutions that are cost-effective and timely.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Proven experience in the design and application of electrical power distribution products, especially switchgear.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical structure, schematics, and layout diagrams.
  • Excellent multitasking and customer service capabilities.
  • Advanced degree may substitute for 6 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and product configuration/pricing tools.
  • Familiarity with PLM software including SAP, Teamcenter, and Salesforce.
  • Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and decision-making skills in a team setting.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
