The Landfill Operations Manager ensures the highest standards of environmental safety and operational excellence by managing day‑to‑day landfill activities, overseeing construction, permitting, leachate and gas management, and maintaining compliance with WM’s Mission to Zero standards and regulations.
Key responsibilities include minimizing operational costs while maximizing productivity, reducing truck turnaround time, accurately tracking waste volume and weight, acting as a liaison for community relationships, monitoring permitting issues, meeting financial review deadlines, overseeing staffing decisions, assisting with budgeting, maintaining site cleanliness, leading safety meetings, providing training, and submitting timely reports.
Required qualifications are an accredited bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) or a high school diploma/GED with four years of relevant work experience, and a total of seven years of relevant work experience.
Candidates may need a REAL ID or a TSA‑approved alternative for travel by air or access to federal property.
